Abstract

Due to the widespread penetration of wind energy, large-capacity wind turbines (WTs) are becoming more conspicuous. In this paper, a linear control-oriented large-capacity wind turbine (WT) model is redesigned based on the 15 MW WT in openFAST. Compared with the original model, the redesigned model is more efficient and conducive to the design of linear controllers. To verify the validity of the redesigned WT model, we design a distributed control scheme with deloading operation of the wind farm (WF) to fairly share the load. Simulations are performed to verify the effectiveness of the application in the WF.
