Abstract
In the tradition of Lewis Thomas, MD and Robert N. Butler, MD, Gene Cohen, MD, PhD was a first-rate medical scientist whose legacy extends beyond his research and clinical practice. Dr. Cohen spurred extraordinary work with older people in the arts and humanities. And thanks to his zest for life and enthusiasm for others, Gene Cohen became a spokesperson for tapping the talents and wisdom of age.
