Journal overview

The launch of the Asian Journal of Sport History & Culture (AJSH&C) in 2022, as an independent journal, is a reflection of the remarkable growth of academic and policy interest focused on Asia in general, and more specifically on analysis of Asian sport policy, its history, and culture, over the period since the beginning of the 21st century.

AJH&C aims to provide a defined outlet for stimulation of fully refereed (English language) articles, with a disciplinary base in the Social Science and Humanities, which address contemporary and historical developments in Asia sport. Thus papers from the fields of anthropology, comparative studies, history, management, policy analysis and policy evaluation, politics and sociology, will be particularly welcome. The journal also seeks to engage with issues across the Asian continent, reflecting the range and diversity of sub-national, national and regional contexts.

AJSH&C will initially publish three issues per year, with one issue normally focusing on a defined special issue. All submissions are subject to double anonymized review, including invited papers.
