Aims and scope

Psychoanalysis, Self and Context is the official journal of the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology

How do we understand the nature of psychological experience, our relationship to other people and the world in which we live? Psychoanalysis, Self and Context is a peer-reviewed quarterly that focuses on the nature of self-experience as it exists within and across multiple contexts. These contexts include the clinical, developmental, historical, cultural, social and political.

Psychoanalysis, Self and Context , formerly known as the International Journal of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, offers articles reflecting a variety of psychoanalytic perspectives such as self psychology, intersubjectivity, dynamic systems, relational and interpersonal theories, attachment theory and interdisciplinary work. It publishes original articles, plenary presentations, commentaries, as well as reviews of books, films and other art forms.

Psychoanalysis, Self and Context is committed to advancing the highest level of scholarship and theoretical creativity. It is devoted to illustrating sound clinical practice and a diversity of ideas. It fosters interdisciplinary research and seeks to demonstrate the relevance of contemporary psychoanalysis for a wider audience. All submissions to this journal are peer reviewed in a double anonymized review process.
