Abstract
A field experiment measuring the after-effect of P in slurry and superphosphate was carried out in a field exhausted for P through 15 years. The effect of the 1st year was measured in barley. There was no difference between the two manures. The after-effect was measured in sugar beets, and here the yield was significantly higher after slurry than after superphosphate. The concentration of measured nutrients in dry matter was approximately the same for all treatments in the top of the beets at harvest. For all nutrients, but N, the concentration of measured nutrients in the roots was least in the slurry treatment. Uptake of nutrients measured in kg was higher in the top, but of the same magnitude in the roots in the slurry treatment as in the superphosphate treatment.
