The Challenge(s) of India’s foreign policy in the shifting global power balance

&

ABSTRACT

India is regarded as a key player in Asia’s security landscape. This stance has become increasingly important with China’s rise and US’s waning influence. While India has emerged as an active participant in multilateral forums under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi, its regional and global politics remain somewhat obscure. This article addresses the challenges India encounters where decisions are influenced by the need to balance economic obligations and strategic interests. Also, an effective propaganda machinery is absent from amplifying India’s foreign policy narratives globally, a mismatch between its ambitions and material strength.
