Leila Mire

LEILA MIRE (she/her) is a Ph.D. Candidate of Performance Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where she combines Middle Eastern and Dance Studies with decolonization and art of resistance. Mire is an active dancer, choreographer, writer, and educator. She has a BFA in Dance Performance from George Mason University and an MA in Performance Studies from New York University. She has been featured in publications such as the New York Times and Washington Post, received a number of grants and fellowships, and is a current writer for thINKingDANCE.
