Abstract

Study of the dichloromethane extract of Gentianella florida (Griseb) Holub (Gentianaceae) resulted in the isolation and identification of four 1,3,5,8-tetraoxygenated xanthones: swerchirin, bellidifolin, isobellidifolin and demethylbellidifolin. Ursolic and oleanolic acids were also isolated. Except for demethylbellidifolin, this is the first report of these compounds from the genus Gentianella.
