Experimental Observation of Strong Exciton-Photon Coupling in Dye Impregnated Porous Silicon Microcavities

Abstract

We have observed giant Rabi-splitting in porous silicon microcavities impregnated with organic dyes. The angular dependent reflectivity spectra show clear anti-crossing behaviour of the exciton and the photon modes. The experimental results can be well described by the coupled oscillator model. The value of the Rabi-splitting was measured to be 378 meV.
