Soledad Álvarez Velasco is a sociocultural anthropologist and human geographer at the University of Illinois Chicago. She investigates the increasingly convulsed interrelationship between migrant mobilities, control, and space across the Americas, focusing on the Andean region and its continental connections.

Cristina Cielo

Cristina Cielo is a professor-researcher of the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies in the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales FLACSO-Ecuador. She studies popular, feminist, and affective economies and ecologies.
