José A. Gutiérrez is lecturer in the area of human rights at the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York. He is also research fellow at the Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction at Dublin City University. His current research concentrates on the intersections between the legacies of rebel governance and peacebuilding. José is co-author of State, Political Power and Criminality in Civil War (Routledge 2023) and has published widely on conflict, rebel governance and transformative justice in journals such as Cooperation and Conflict and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
