Abstract

Tiwari–Das model water–Ag-based radiative nanofluid heat transfer and fluid flow features inside a square cavity with adiabatic conditions on horizontal walls and isothermal conditions on both side walls, by taking magnetic field into account, are examined numerically in this analysis. The non-linear partial differential equations representing momentum and temperature equations are evaluated numerically by utilizing a finite difference method. The sketches of isotherms and stream lines of nanofluid inside the cavity with dissimilar values of radiation parameter (0.1R0.9), Reynolds number (0.1Re0.5), volume fraction parameter (0.01ϕ0.09), Rayleigh number (100Ra1000), magnetic field parameter (1.0M3.0) and Prandtl number (5.2Pr7.2) are plotted through graphs. The values of dimensionless Nusselt number with various values of pertinent parameters are also examined and results are represented in terms of plots. Heat transfer rate is intensified from 6.3% to 12.4% when silver nanoparticle of volume fraction 0.05 is suspended into the water.
