Trends in VPATs over time

&

Abstract

Accessibility of electronic resources is an increasingly important topic. The University of Tennessee (UT) Libraries began gathering Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) in 2019 to demonstrate compliance with federal and state laws and university policy. This analysis seeks to identify trends in VPAT creation over time, as well as how to converse with a vendor based on how the VPAT itself is completed. After analyzing 161 VPATs, the authors found that the number of VPATs completed correctly has increased in recent years. Vendors can still improve VPATs by correctly completing and disclosing information, as well as make them widely available.
