Mike Emett

Mike Emett is currently a Ph.D. Candidate and History Instructor at the University of South Carolina. His research centers on the History of Experiences, braiding in the senses and emotions for the contextualization of the human experience. His dissertation examines the Northern civilian experience of attending the flag reraising ceremony at Fort Sumter in Charleston, S.C. in April 1865. He has published reviews for Slavery & Abolition and H-Slavery, and has presented internationally.
