ABSTRACT

Although the literature on Business Intelligence Success Models is scarce, the research of Işık and Popovič has gained notoriety because of their significant results. This paper reviews that research in the light of DeLone and McLean’s model and proposes and empirically tests a consolidated and expanded BI success model. It includes novel insights as to considering BI capability and information quality as multidimensional constructs. Besides, the model contains the variable user satisfaction, not included in the former BI success models and considers the relationship between BI capability and user satisfaction directly, and through the variable information quality. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyse 217 usable observations. The results show that BI success can be defined in terms of BI capability, the quality of information, user satisfaction, decision-making culture, and BI system use. It proved all the causal relationships between the BI success dimensions, excluding the decision-making moderation role
