Jasper van der Steen

Jasper van der Steen is Assistant Professor in History at Leiden University. His research focuses on dynastic politics and culture, with a focus on the ‘corporate culture’ of the Nassau dynasty. He has recently published ‘Dynastic Scenario Thinking in the Holy Roman Empire’ Past & Present, vol. 256, no 1 (2022), pp. 87–128 and was co-editor, with Irena Kozmanová, for the edited volume Dynastischer Nachwuchs als Hoffnungsträger und Argument in der Frühen Neuzeit (Berlin, 2023).
