Jill Kingsley DiMassimo volunteered as an independent researcher for the exhibition. In this capacity, she reviewed census records to see if census enumerators had described any of the other recorded potters of Commeraw’s era as Black.

Jill Kingsley DiMassimo is an independent researcher and a 2023 graduate of the Masters of Arts in Critical Craft Studies program at Warren Wilson College. Her practicum project focused on stoneware potter Thomas Commeraw.
