“Plant Science April” is an example of a recent specific subject group promotion. It ran in April 2013. We run these on a monthly basis and other promotions include “Life Sciences July” and “Zoology November”.
The aim of these campaigns is:
Driving token usage of the 14-day free access offer
Boosting usage of Popular/Most Read of the previous year's articles
Encouraging submissions across the portfolio
Increasing the number of users registered to receive Table of Contents (TOC) alerts
Raising the profile of our books portfolio offered by CRC Press, our sister imprint
The campaign was a huge success: a total of 537 activations (i.e., people registering for their 14-day free access) in April, resulting in over 10,000 full-text article downloads from our Plant Science journals.
The 537 registrants were contacted again in May to highlight another content promotion, this time for the “Fascination of Plants Day”.
