About community voices – disclaimer
Community Voices is an occasional section of the Journal of Communication in Healthcare: Strategies, Media, and Engagement in Global Health, which is being inaugurated for this special issue of the Journal and aims to feature community stories and opinions on topics within the scope of the Journal. Community Voices may be reviewed but this is not usually a peer-reviewed section of the Journal. All viewpoints discussed in this section/article are only those of the authors for each contribution and do not necessarily represent the opinions of the Journal of Communication in Healthcare: Strategies, Media, and Engagement in Global Health, its publisher, or its editorial team.

John Davids
John Davids is the Research Coordinator at the Black Community Resource Centre and was the Lead Researcher for the Black in Quebec project. He has an M.A. in Political Science from York University.
Emma Maceda-Maria
Emma Maceda-Maria is passionate about community education and hopes to grow as a trusted community leader to create change while building paths to empower other community members. She has continued as a Community Navigator for over three years.
Khanh Ho
Khanh Ho leads community partnership development for Public Health – Seattle & King County. She is a co-founder of the Community Navigator program.
Sophie Randall
Sophie Randall is Director of the Patient Information Forum, the UK membership body for health information producers. PIF runs the PIF TICK, the UK credibility mark for trusted health information. Sophie is a board member of the Media and Information Literacy Alliance (MILA)
Frances Feltner
Frances Feltner is the Director of the University of Kentucky's Center of Excellence in Rural Health and Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing. She has over 40 years of experience in planning and implementing health programs in rural communities.
Alma Manabat Parker
Alma Manabat Parker Born in the Philippines, raised in the rain forest, Alma has called Ketchikan home for 40 + years. She is passionate about working to promote health and wellness for her ‘pamayanan’. She is the Health Equity Program Coordinator & Director of Operations at Ketchikan Wellness Coalition.
