Farewell

Dear Readers of Contemporary Arab Affairs

After a decade-long partnership with Routledge: Taylor & Francis in publishing this journal, time has come for Contemporary Arab Affairs (CAA) to transit to a new publisher and new editorial board. In this regard, I have decided to step down as Editor-in-Chief and take this opportunity to thank gratefully the publishing and editorial team at Routledge; and all members of the editorial board. Special thanks go to the CAA consulting editor as well as colleagues who, at various stages, took editorial responsibilities for CAA.

Drawing on the expertise of the Centre for Arab Unity Studies, a long established and highly respected research institute and academic publisher, Contemporary Arab Affairs, being a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal, managed to provide the English-speaking world with an accessible, affordable, and authentic critical Arab academic discourse. The journal has evolved through the past ten years and succeeded in expanding its reach to various academic institutes across the globe and various scholars and writers from the Arab region, thus bridging an intellectual and academic gap between the Arab region and other regions.

Finally, I wish the Centre for Arab Unity Studies, the proprietor of the journal, and the University of California Press, the new publisher of the journal as of 2018, and the editorial team and board of CAA all success. I am confident that CAA will continue its mission in 2018 and beyond with further enhancement of the diversity, quality and reach of the Journal.
