B. Shahal is a Ph.D. scholar at the Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad. His dissertation explores the interplay of infrastructure and sound (technologies) in the context of Kerala in South India. He draws from Sound Studies, infrastructure studies, and media anthropology to examine how sound and infrastructure shape and are shaped by social and cultural practices.
