Aims and scope

Plant Signaling & Behavior includes new research on signal perception and transduction, integrative plant physiology, and information acquisition and processing.

Plant Signaling & Behavior fosters an understanding of complex plant communications. The journal examines different levels of biological organization through the integration of molecular biology with physiology, phenomenology, and plant behavior. Topics may address:

  • Molecules, protein complexes, membranes, organelles, cells, and organs
  • Whole plants and plant communities
  • Communication with viruses, bacteria, nematodes, fungi, insects, and animals
  • Pathogenic, symbiotic, or predatory interactions


Plant Signaling & Behavior
publishes original research papers, reviews, short communications, technical reports, commentaries, and meeting reports.

The journal operates a single-anonymized peer review policy.
