Aims and scope

Asian Affairs: An American Review provides in-depth analyses of political, economic, and security issues with a focus on East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, intra-Asia relations, and U.S. ties with Asia. The journal strives to examine issues relevant to current policymaking. Its articles provide value to:

  • Individuals engaged in contemporary studies of Asian countries, intra-Asian relations, and America’s ties with the Asian region
Examples of topics covered by the journal include an examination of the China-Pakistan-United States strategic triangle, triad societies in Southeast Asia, the North Korean nuclear program, Indonesia’s democracy, China-Japan relations and the future geopolitics of East Asia, and the politics of natural resource use in Cambodia.
The journal publishes four issues per year.
