Junior Reviewer Programme

To train future scientific journal reviewers, EMI takes volunteer applications from the global biological scientific community who would like to serve as a volunteer reviewer for EMI. Such candidates must show that they have relevant education and research experience in areas related to microbiology, virology, immunology, infectious diseases, public health and emerging infections.

EMI will review the applications and select those who have adequate training or experience to join the junior reviewer program. If EMI identifies new manuscripts which may meet the expertise of any junior reviewer, they will be asked to serve as a traditional peer-reviewer.

EMI Editors will supervise the junior reviewers to ensure that their review meets the standards at EMI so it can be used to assist the final decision.

The term of Junior Reviewer Program is flexible but in general the candidates will not serve more than two years.
