The International Transactional Analysis Association is a nonprofit, member-driven public benefit organization founded by Eric Berne, MD. Our purpose is to help advance the theory, methods, and principles of transactional analysis. United by our common appreciation of the theory and practice of transactional analysis, we seek to grow and learn together. Our members include counselors, educators, organizational development specialists, psychotherapists, and others who use transactional analysis in their work and lives. Berne developed transactional analysis to be effective and accessible, underpinned by the simple but profound phrase “I’m OK, You’re OK, We’re OK.” This vision of contributing to healing the world is what drew many of us to TA and continues to inspire us. In a world facing acute environmental, social, and political crises, it is a vision that we are keen to share and act on. As a largely volunteer, international association, our work centers primarily on training and certification, publications, international conferences, awards of recognition, scholarships and grants, and providing an ethical code of conduct.

The ITAA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) for the Transactional Analysis Journal.
