The Textile Institute

The Textile Institute was founded in 1910, becoming very-well established and therefore incorporated in England by Royal Charter in 1925. The Textile Institute is however, an international body which works to promote professionalism in the textiles, clothing, footwear and related industries on a worldwide basis. To this end it has an international range of members and they are active across the world; the Institute’s research and professional publications are therefore intended to support them and others who work in those industries, whatever their nationality and wherever they might be located.

Alongside its research journals, The Journal of The Textile Institute and Textile Progress, The Textile Institute publishes a member’s magazine, textiles, as well as learned books, all aimed at providing definitive sources not only of the best information about research on topics of interest to practitioners and researchers in textiles, clothing and footwear but also about the manufacturing and business practices with which those industries are involved.

Further details about The Textile Institute’s courses, conferences, qualifications, membership, institutional accreditation, other support activities and available publications can be found on the Institute’s website at:
