1 The film, in turn, reflects Jung’s (Citation1954) use of imagery in the pre-Paracelsian “Rosarium” alchemical wedding that arises out of the mercurial fountain.

2 Analysts can imagine the multi-polar atmosphere of sessions with patients as taking on the quality of complex musical pieces in terms of tonal quality and range, rhythm, and melody, together with counterpoint, all reflecting the underlying unconscious interactive exchange between analyst and patient.

Ronald Schenk

Ronald Schenk, MSW, PhD, is a Jungian analyst with a background in psychoanalysis, practicing in Texas as a member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts where he has served in many administrative positions, including president, and he has recently served as president of the Council of North American Societies of Jungian Analysts. He has worked on the Navajo reservation and has created a presentational mode of lecture, song, art, dance, and poetry based on Navajo ceremony. He has published recent essays on homecoming, language, complexity theory, the city, anger, prisons, and cultural warfare. His most recent book is entitled American Soul: A Cultural Narrative.
