1 Public Achievement, which was established in Northern Ireland in 1999 and operated up until its closure in 2016, applied a model of “civic youth work” supporting groups of young people to develop their own action projects that addressed the issues they cared about. It was inspired by a programme of the same name in Minneapolis, now based at Augsburg University.
