Introduccíon al analisis antracológico en la isla de Tenerife

Resumen

Este artículo constituye el primer aporte de la investigación antracológica de la Prehistoria de Canarias. En el presentamos los resultados obtenidos para seis especies indicativas de los distintos pisos de vegetación de la Isla de Tenerife, seleccionados entre un conjunto de ochenta y siete taxones que constituyen la colección de referencia. También, se muestran los caracteres que definen a estos pisos de vegetación, los yacimientos arqueológicos en que se basa el estudio, los objetivos de la Investigación y la metodología seguida.

Résumé

Cet article constitue la première contribution anthracologique à la Préhistoire des Canaries. Les résultats présentés ici concernent six espèces indicatrices des différents étages de végétations de I'lle de Ténérife, sélectionnées parmi un ensemble de quatre-vingt-huit taxons qui constituent la collection de référence. Nous présentons aussi les caractères qui définissent ces étages, les sites archéologiques sur lesquels nous basons notre étude, les objectifs de la recherche et la méthodologie suivie.

Summary

The present study is the first prehistoric charcoal analysis ever carried out in the Canary Islands. The resuls have been obtained for six significant species from various vegetation strata, of the Tenerife Island. These species were selected among the 88 taxa of the reference collection. Also described are the characteristics of the strata, the ancheological sites investigated, the aims of our work and the methodology chosen.
