Taxation in Spain and the EU as an Instrument of the Kyoto Protocol

Abstract

In recognition of the recommendations of the Kyoto Summit Conference on atmospheric pollution and the agreements contracted by the EU and Spain, this article seeks to analyse the usefulness of taxation as an environmental instrument to reduce pollutant emissions, either by imposing tax on the consumption of certain energy products, or on the emissions themselves.
