Abstract
After two decades of steady growth in Argentina’s mining sector and strong geological potential yet to develop, the country faces a crossroads: will it maintain the necessary conditions for mining’s expansion, or not? This article explains current mineral investment conditions in Argentina. It does so by reviewing legal matters, such as relevant regulatory changes, as well as social and political issues, such as increasing stakeholder demands for benefit from mining revenue. The main objective of this article is to enable investors and industry players to understand better the current legal scenario in the country in relation to mining.
