Anne Milano Appel
Anne Milano Appel, Ph.D., has translated works by a number of leading Italian authors for a variety of US and UK publishers. Among the recent works she has published are M. Son of the Century by Antonio Scurati, Game of the Gods, A Devil Comes to Town, and Theory of Shadows by Paolo Maurensig, Heaven and Earth by Paolo Giordano, Snapshots, Journeying, and Blameless by Claudio Magris, and Deviation by Luce d’Eramo. Her awards include the Italian Prose in Translation Award, the John Florio Prize for Italian Translation, and the Northern California Book Award for Translation. Translating professionally since 1996, she is a former library administrator, and has a doctorate in Romance Languages and Literature.
