Special issue introduction

&

Welcome to this the first of two special issues of Materials at High Temperatures comprising papers submitted and presented at 6th International Creep & Fracture Conference organised by the European Creep Collaborative Committee hosted in Edinburgh, UK, on 22nd to 24th May 2023.

Presenters/Authors at the conference had the option for inclusion in the conference proceedings or else in the present journal as a special issue. Of the 106 papers submitted/presented at the conference 32 authors opted for inclusion into the special issue, consequently these will form 2 special issues of the journal.

The conference covered many aspects of creep and fracture with dedicated topics on Creep Strength Enhanced Ferritics; Austenitics; Superalloys; alloys with a Nuclear focus; Modelling covering Creep, Negligible Creep, Fatigue and Creep-Fatigue; Effects of Welding and special sessions on Miniature and Special Testing. All papers appearing in the special issues have been peer reviewed by experts from across the globe for which ECCC and ourselves as Guest Editors would like to acknowledge and offer our thanks for their efforts.

We hope you find the papers in this special issue of interest and value and would like to take this opportunity of inviting you to our next conference currently in the planning stage but likely to be held in 2026.

Regards and best wishes

Stefan Holmström Peter Barnard
