Abstract

A mathematical model is developed and an analysis is carried out for the flow of Casson fluid a non-Newtonian model past a cylinder in a permeable medium. The permeability of the medium as well as effect of heat source on the flow behavior is coined as the novelty of the said work. In the physiological study, the flow of blood via an artery, its application is useful. However, due to the deposition of fats, cholesterol, etc. on the inner wall of the artery, the area within the artery becomes narrow. Therefore, the study of Casson fluid is vital. The renovation of the governing equations involves a suitable transformation method. The coupling behavior of non-linear PDEs formulated by the momentum and energy equations are reduced into system of non-linear ODEs and numerical technique is adopted by deploying the in-built matlab code bvp5c. The effect of characterizing parameters appears in the flow phenomena have been accessible through graphs. The numerical simulation of the rate coefficients are also deliberated in table.
