Chang Jae Lee

Chang Jae LEE is a book designer, independent curator, and author. He received a BA in art history and BFA in painting at the University of Washington. He also completed his graduate studies in communication design at Pratt Institute. His works have won numerous awards from the Association of University Presses and the Book Industry Guild of New York. Lee curated the photography exhibition Traces of Life: Seen Through Korean Eyes, 1945–1992 at the Korea Society in New York City in 2012 and the book exhibition Thirteen Ways of Making and Looking at Books: Columbia University Press Book Design, 1990–2015 at Gallery Sagakhyung and Seoul Metropolitan Library in 2015. Lee participated in Bookshelf of Artists, which commemorated the “Year of the Book 2018” at the Aram Art Museum. Lee is the author of Kiŏkgwa kirok sai (Between Memory and Legacy [2020]).
