Wim Wambecq

Wim Wambecq is an engineer-architect and urbanist. He worked as an independent architect for Studio Associato Bernardo Secchi–Paola Viganò after which he joined the Research Groupa of Urbanism and Architecture (RUA-OSA, KU Leuven), where he elaborated his PhD research on Forest Urbanism in Flanders (2019). For this research he was awarded the third Manuel De Solà-Morales European Award in 2021. He currently teaches Urban Design and Architecture at the Department of Architecture at KU Leuven, with a focus on the systemic functioning of landscapes and their public infrastructure. He is also the co-founder of the interdisciplinary design office MIDI, based in Lisbon and Brussels.
