ABSTRACT

Catalytic amounts of environmentally friendly, hydrophobic, highly thermally stable, and completely heterogeneous propylsulfonic acid functionalized nanostructured SBA-15 has been proven to be an efficient and green catalyst for tetrahydropyranylation of a variety of alcohols and phenols in excellent yields in solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The absence of solvent, simple experimental procedure, easy recovery, and reusability of the catalyst (at least 7 reaction cycles) characterize the present procedure as a green method.
