ABSTRACT

The designing of new material and its studies with definite properties are required for easy manufacturing of high quality products in various industrial applications. In this paper, the investigations were carried out by blending the basalt powder with the matrix to find out the mechanical, dynamic mechanical thermal properties of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy composites. The fabrications of the composites were done by hand lay-up process. The mechanical and dynamic mechanical thermal properties on this hybrid composite were found by means of tensile test, flexural test, Charpy impact strength method and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. In this gaze, results show that the reinforcing of glass fiber with basalt powder heightens the strength of the epoxy composites.
