When the Editor’s Introduction was first published online, the first sentence in Note 1 on p. 10 stated that the total number of conflicts as captured by the UCDP/PRIO Armed Conflict Dataset in 2022 was 183. This has now been amended to 137, and the first sentence has been corrected as follows:

¹The total number of conflicts as captured by the UCDP/PRIO Armed Conflict Dataset has been consistently on the rise since 2011, totalling 137 in 2022, among the highest in three decades.

This has been amended in the online publication.
