Abstract
Life review involves having clients look back over their lives and visualize ups and downs and recognize successes as well as failures. A life review helps clients to identify which coping strategies were effective in the past and which were not effective in dealing with life's problems. A life review helps clients envision new options available in their lives and renews their confidence in handling problems.
A lifeline, a tool for a life review, drawn as an ECG (electrocardiogram), exemplified by a vignette, is presented in this article. This is an innovative and adjunct tool, which can be used in psychotherapy with individuals and in group therapy.
