The Bystander Issue:

Who Will Help in Cardiac Arrest?

Abstract

Immediate action by bystanders in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases has been sham to increase victim survival rate. Factors which can enhance or inhibit bystander action are critical variables in the cardiac arrest event. Research of bystander action in other situations suggests areas which need examination in relation to cardiac arrest. Knowledge of bystander action leading to information on the use and success of CPR training can be utilized to enhance existing training programs.
