Abstract
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and DHEA sulfate (DHEAS) have attracted much attention for their activities in immunomodulation, antitumourigenesis and modification of age-associated changes. We recently reviewed the prevention of immune dysfunction by DHEA in ageing, chronic AIDS and leukaemia patients [1]. In this paper we review several recent studies on the antitumour initiation and immunomodulatory effects of DHEA.
