Crystal Song is a PhD candidate in performance studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Her dissertation examines Asian American competitive ballroom dance cultures, with a focus on how model minority imperatives, feelings, and affiliations are negotiated through embodied practice. Her work is published in TDR and Conversations Across the Field of Dance Studies.
