Leonardo Valencia
Leonardo Valencia (Guayaquil, Ecuador, 1969) has published the short-story collection La luna nómada (1995; The Nomad Moon) and the novels El desterrado (2000, The Banished), El libro flotante (2006; The Floating Book), Kazbek (2008; Kazbek, 2020), and La escalera de Bramante (2019; Bramante’s Staircase). His books of essays include Viaje al círculo de fuego (2014; Journey to the Circle of Fire), Moneda al aire: Sobre la novela y la crítica (2018; Coin in the Air: On the Novel and Literary Criticism), and Ensayos en caída libre (2023; Essays in Free Fall). He directs the master’s program in Latin American Literature and Creative Writing at Quito’s Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar.
