Welcome to the second issue of the Australian Journal of Forensic Sciences for 2024. Over the last couple of months, Prof. Adrian Linacre has been working through the submissions made for the IAFS/ANZFSS 2023 special issue, which will be published in the first-quarter of 2024. There are approximately 50 abstracts that have been processed to-date, which represent an interesting snapshot of the diversity of presentations given at the conference. I would like to thank those authors who submitted their work.
There have been some further updates to the editorial board of the journal. Professor Noel Woodford has kindly agreed to take up a position as an Assistant Editor. Noel is the Director of the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine and Chair of the Department of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Monash University. He brings significant experience and expertise across the forensic sciences, especially forensic medicine. We also welcome Dr Jeremy Watherston, Manager Innovation, Forensic Science Queensland, and Dr Stefano De Luca, Panacea Cooperative Research S. Coop. Jeremy and Stefano bring considerable expertise in forensic biology and forensic anthropology, respectively.
