, &
Pages 123-137 | Published online: 27 Jun 2023

Abstract

This article highlights the collaboration between the fields of occupational therapy (OT) and psychology in the development of a Multisensory Immersion Room (MSIR) within a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). An MSIR was designed to expand clinical treatment programming at the Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center-North Campus, within the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. The collaborative assessment between psychology and OT delivers a superior understanding of a youth, which is advantageous to planning treatment in an MSIR space. A case study is utilized to showcase this collaboration, while simultaneously paving the way for future providers.
