Meraj Ahmed Mubarki
Meraj Ahmed Mubarki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, India. He teaches courses on English Journalistic Skills, Media Law and Ethics, Film Studies, Film Appreciation, Media and Human Rights. He has contributed articles to History and Sociology of South Asia, Contemporary South Asia, Visual Anthropology, Indian Journal of Gender Studies, South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies, Social Semiotics, Quarterly Review of Film & Video, and Feminist Media Studies. His book Filming Horror: Hindi Cinema, Ghosts and Ideologies was published by Sage Publications in 2016. In 2020, he was awarded a Fellowship by the National Film Archives of India (NFAI), Pune to study film censorship in Colonial India. His articles have been included in the reading lists of Sussex University, U.K.; Central University of Gujarat, India; St Paul’s University, Canada; the University of California, Riverside, U.S.A, the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati, India.
