Peter Ives

Professor of political science and chair of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Winnipeg, Canada. He is author of Gramsci’s Politics of Language: Engaging the Bakhtin Circle and the Frankfurt School (University of Toronto Press, 2004), Language and Hegemony in Gramsci (Pluto, 2004), and many essays on Gramsci and language as well as the politics of global English. He was a member of the Editorial Board of Rethinking Marxism from 2010–18.

Abbas Jamali

M.A. in modern philosophy from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. He has published several essays on the philosophy of Agamben and Foucault, including “Agamben and Philosophical Archaeology” in Philosophical Investigations, “Agamben and Foucault: Sovereignty and/or Power?” in Knowledge, and “Michel Foucault and Radicalization of Kantian Critique” in Occidental Studies (in Persian).

Mabrouka M’Barek

Ph.D. student in sociology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She coedited the book Cities of Dignity: Urban Transformations around the World (with Giorgos Velegrakis, Raphael Hoetmer, and Ana Rodríguez; Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, 2020).

Eddy Izuwan Bin Musa

Lecturer on the cinematic arts, including philosophy, visual theories, and photography, at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, in Malaysia. His areas of research include semiology, identities, cultural anthropology, and philosophy. His recent book, The Cycle Empire: Reflections on Tibetan Culture (Areca Books, 2020), explores Tibetan geoanthropology and socioreligious factors.

Johan Awang Bin Othman

Senior lecturer of music at the Universiti Sains Malaysia at Pulau Pinang in Malaysia. He teaches music, art history and theory, gender studies, and critical theory. His most recent essay, on the artworks of Jakub Ciężki and Santiago Maldonado, was published in Contemporary Identities (no. 6), an international online art magazine.

Oktay Özden

Currently research assistant at Istanbul 29 Mayıs University and pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics at Kadir Has University, Istanbul. His research examines the impact of monetary policy on income distribution, as well as alternative theories regarding money, inflation, and distribution.

Andrea Ricci

Assistant professor and senior lecturer of political economy at the University of Urbino, Italy, where he teaches economic courses. His research focuses on international economics and Marxist political economy. His most recent book is Value and Unequal Exchange in International Trade: The Geography of Global Capitalist Exploitation (Routledge, 2021).

Mark Silverman

Ph.D. in economics from UMass Amherst, J.D. from NYU School of Law, and assistant professor of economics at Franklin & Marshall College, with interests in the history and philosophy of economic thought, Marxian economics, and heterodox perspectives on “law and economics.” His scholarship addresses the philosophy of economics and Marxian thought, including work on overdetermination and prediction in Rethinking Marxism. His recent essay in the Review of Political Economy focused on the “natural” in Walras’s economic thought.
