You might have noticed that MTL has a change in associate editors. We reluctantly farewell Joanne Lobato, who has been a longstanding and outstanding editor, and welcome Manuel Santos-Trigo, who is joining us as an associate editor. I wish to thank Joanne sincerely for her unwavering commitment to the journal and her insightful and detailed reviews of submitted manuscripts. Many a time I have called on Joanne to advise me on a difficult submission, knowing that she will get to the heart of the problem. Her wealth of experience across many mathematical domains has enabled her to advise on a range of submissions. We are all indebted to Joanne for her scholarly wisdom and problem-solving capabilities. We wish her well in her next adventures.
As we farewell Joanne, we welcome Manuel Santos-Trigo, who has been a long-term member of MTL’s editorial board. Like Joanne, Manuel served as a “go-to” reviewer for more difficult submissions and has always delivered a well-reasoned and fair review, which has enabled me to make a sound judgment on a submission’s acceptance or otherwise. We are indeed fortunate that Manuel accepted our invitation to join the other two associate editors, who are also invaluable members of the team. Together we can work toward enriching and broadening MTL’s reputation as a leading mathematics education journal.
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank the reviewers of submitted papers. I know how much time and thought these reviews demand and am very appreciative of the time reviewers take out of their busy schedules to do this task. Lastly, I appreciate the authors who choose MTL as an outlet for their research; without your contributions, the journal would not exist.
