The effect of park renovation on civic trust: a survey experiment approach

Article title: The effect of park renovation on civic trust: a survey experiment approach

When this paper was first published online, the final paragraph in the ‘Study design and methodological limitations’ section contained errors. This paragraph has now been amended to read as follows:

The wording of the prompting treatments may impact findings. The study design intentionally used words that implied, directly or indirectly, that the treatments were substantial. For example, the study used words such as ‘much-needed’ and ‘brand new’. This was done in order to increase the strength of the information treatments and identify a treatment effect to verify the validity of the methodology. Larger samples would probably allow for more subtle treatment wordings in future research. Additionally, the wording of the prompting treatments contained an attribution error. The survey fielded to respondents incorrectly attributed the renovation to the City of Miami, although this is a Miami-Dade County park, located in the unincorporated area of Miami-Dade, and renovations were conducted by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
